LOUISE ALSOP

“OUTSIDER”

Predominantly black, the collection focuses on detail, texture and shape. Heavy knits have been half shredded draping across the body. The finest chiffon is layered, pulled together with ties and left open at the sides. Tops and dresses have a drawstring hem, pulled with rubber chord distorting the silhouette. Square panels are placed in different directions on and off the grain in sweatshirting.
Straps trail off the ends of t-shirts, long sleeves and shorts, weaved between small eyelets. Black dresses are layered heavily with chiffon between silk. Black large square eyelets adorn denim and jersey pieces. Oversized deconstructed vests that can be worn 3 ways come in chiffon and jersey.
Black on black prints subtly appear throughout the collection. Ribbed kits with raw cut outs allow layers to be seen underneath. A collarless wool coat is fitted and floor length with magnetic fastenings that can be removed and worn without. Matt fabrics mixed with gloss and wools mixed with silks create balance. Hand screened prints decorate easier shapes with the slogan ‘OUTSIDER’.
Bags are square and minimal, fastened by leather straps wrapping multiple times around them.
‘LA’ key rings and patches are fastened to accessories with large industrial hooks.
